New Delhi, June 8, 2025 — Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, earned a total remuneration of ₹10.41 crore during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2025 — marking a 12% increase from the ₹9.26 crore he received in FY24 .
Adani's compensation comprises salaries and benefits drawn solely from two of the group's nine listed companies:
-
Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL): ₹2.26 crore in salary + ₹0.28 crore in perks and allowances, totaling ₹2.54 crore (business-standard.com).
-
Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone (APSEZ): ₹1.80 crore salary + ₹6.07 crore in commission, up from ₹6.80 crore in FY24 (business-standard.com).
Despite the uptick, his overall pay lags significantly behind his industrialist peers. In FY25, leaders like L&T’s S.N. Subrahmanyan earned ₹76.25 crore, Infosys CEO Salil Parekh received ₹80.62 crore, while in FY24 others such as Sunil Mittal (₹32.27 crore), Rajiv Bajaj (₹53.75 crore), and Pawan Munjal (₹109 crore) also surpassed Adani’s compensation (business-standard.com). Notably, Mukesh Ambani has voluntarily forgone a salary since the COVID-19 pandemic, though it was capped at ₹15 crore prior (business-standard.com).
Within Adani’s own conglomerate, the remuneration hierarchy is even more pronounced:
-
AEL CEO Vinay Prakash: ₹69.34 crore, including ₹65.34 crore in performance-linked incentives (m.rediff.com).
-
AGEL MD Vneet S. Jaain: ₹11.23 crore (english.mathrubhumi.com).
-
Group CFO Jugeshinder Singh: ₹10.40 crore (english.mathrubhumi.com).
-
Family members such as younger brother Rajesh Adani (₹9.87 crore), son Karan Adani (₹7.09 crore), nephews Pranav (₹7.45 crore) and Sagar Adani (₹7.50 crore) also earned notable salaries (english.mathrubhumi.com).
These comparisons underscore a clear internal and external disparity in pay, positioning Gautam Adani’s package as relatively modest amidst the upper echelons of corporate India.
